The interrelationships between blood groups and productivity of pigs of Large White breed

Abstract

Some genotypes of A, E, G, L, K, H and M blood group systems are related to carcass quality and fattening ability of LW breed of pigs. E ^{aeg/ bdg}, E ^bdg/edg, L ^bcgi/bcgi, K ^-/b, M ^-/- genotypes have a positive effect on carcass meat yield of finishing pigs. Using pigs with H^a/-, K^a/b, L^agi/bdfi, M^a/d, E^aeg/edg, E^bdg/bdg genotypes in selection work on meatiness is not desirable. High frequency of А^а/-, Е^bdg/bdg, L^agi/bdfi, К^а/- and М^а/d genotypes in herds of pigs will result in better carcass quality of young pigs.
